Experience vision that exceeds 'one time better' after surgery

Average visual acuity without glasses following refractive vision correction surgery in patients operated in 2013 is 102 percent. This graph depicts the proportion of improvement of visual acuity in comparison with patients' vision prior to surgery as per different degrees of refractive vision error. The percentage of the improvement of visual acuity after surgery is expected to increase with higher degrees of refractive error because vision without glasses is very poor in these cases. The main indicator of this analysis of our results is that, within the range of different degrees of refractive error that are appropriate for laser correction, we can achieve perfect eyesight regardless of the degree of refractive error. This is true for both nearsightedness and farsightedness as well as for different forms of astigmatism.

The frequency of dioptre values

Most patients have a dioptre value of between -1 and -6 prior to surgery

Laser refractive vision correction is most commonly considered for those individuals who have a low to medium degree of dioptre and astigmatism. An extreme limitation for laser correction of farsightedness is considered to be higher than +4, and for nearsightedness, greater than -9, particularly when high astigmatism is also present. In patients who exceed these limitations, we can correct refractive error with intraocular lens implantation. From the graph, we can see the values of dioptres in patients operated in 2013. The largest share of patients who underwent laser surgery had a dioptre value of between -1 and -6.

Less than 0.5 % of patients still need glasses after surgery

The share of patients who still need glasses after refractive vision correction laser surgery is very small - on average, less than one percent. The risk that the refractive error is not entirely corrected primarily exists in cases of high degrees of nearsightedness and farsightedness - as also presented in the graph. The success of refractive vision correction in low and medium degrees of nearsightedness and farsightedness is practically 100%. Because we trust in our knowledge and technology, we assume lifelong responsibility for the results of laser refractive vision correction. In the rare case that additional correction is needed for perfect eyesight, we perform the additional procedure free of charge.

Patients' expectations

We fulfill our patients' expectations

The opinion and satisfaction of our patients means a lot to us, which is why we use questionnaire to obtain as much feedback as possible. We then use this information to improve the level of our services. We are proud of the satisfaction of our patients and in our ability to fulfil their expectations. Expectations on resulting quality of eyesight are exceeded in more than half our patients.
